We thought it might be interesting to know a little bit more about Polar Planet, from those of us that work here. So we are going to be introducing you to a member of the team over the coming weeks, with their views on everything Polar Planet a well as finding out a bit more about them as a person.
We do not want to be a faceless company, we want you to understand us, and what we are motivated by.
It only seems right to begin this segment with the man behind the brand of Polar Planet - Mr Reuben Corbett. Reuben set up the company 10 years ago – after working for a renewable company prior to that - and he is very passionate about what we deliver.
Within the company, Reuben employees his 4 children, and 2 grand fur babies. He has a wealth of knowledge to bring to the table, and is always on hand to answer anyone’s questions or queries.
How would you describe your team?
Conscientious, polite and knowledgeable.
How have you contributed to our team most significantly?
By being here with my charismatic ambiance. I’m a born leader. I’ve also bred most of Polar Planets employees….
Who are some of your major influences at work?
Demelza my daughter.
What is the most unusual aspect of working here?
Everyone’s dedication to do a job well.
What is your definition of success?
Having a happy, content workforce.
Who motivates you?
Clients – they give me satisfaction.
Who would you select as a mentor if you could choose anybody, and why?
Alan Sugar, because he built his own fortunes from his own abilities and drive.
What is your current job title?
How has Polar Planet changed since opening?
It has grown… and systems are improved and organised, with qualifications, policies and all of us have attended health and safety and first aid at work training.
What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?
I enjoy walking, I like outdoor activities like dog competitions, and training gun dogs to top level for competitions.

Dog walking and competing with my dogs.

Just being me!
One thing you would tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?
Smile… no… Try…. Don’t… I would try to be more approachable.

A while ago, I lost my laughing buddy…
In five years, what is your vision and hope?
To be alive… and retired.
Where is your favourite destination you’ve visited, and why?
Canada for ski-ing.

I was at another renewable energy company.
